We’ve spent the greater portion of five years on Sava, but now that we have another boat, we’re selling Sava. She’s a great boat for crossing oceans or cruising around beautiful motus. If you or anyone you know is looking for a comfortable and reliable monohull, here’s Sava!
About Sava
Sava is a 2000 Bavaria 46. This German made 46 feet long boat is known for being blue water ready and a good-value sailboat. From our experience, definitely.
Layout
Inside Sava
Sava is equipped with three cabins, the largest, the v-berth, has an ensuite head. The second head includes a separate shower.
The two aft berths are mirror images and both sleep two comfortably.
The salon offers plenty of seating for dining and activities, featuring brand new upholstery.
The galley is well equipped. We bought a new Force 10 propane stove last year which makes yummy sourdough bread and cookies. The galley also features a fridge and standalone freezer, which is great for provisioning for remote islands.
Outside space
When onboard Sava, we spend most of our time outside in the fresh air. The cockpit is comfortable and well protected from the sun, thanks to the dodger and bimini.
Overall, Sava is a roomy boat. Brian is 6 feet tall, and one of his requirements for living on a boat is height. He doesn’t have to crouch inside or out. Unless he’s doing boat yoga, of course!
Well Equipped
We’ve put a lot of work into Sava over the years, including installing lithium batteries and new, more powerful solar panels in Panama. In Tahiti, we hauled out for painting and rudder replacement. We also redid the rigging in Tahiti.
Our water maker and starter motor are freshly serviced, and we’ve even got a new freezer! Selling Sava is easier with all these upgraded amenities.
