Our Next Adventure is Big

Have you ever woken up to sea turtles swimming around visiting you? Spent an afternoon sailing the sea surrounded by flying fish? These rewarding experiences are so enjoyable that once you’ve had them, you’ll want to repeat! Interacting with nature and being close to the sea are part of what compels me to embark on my next adventure.

We Bought a Boat!

Brian and I are packing everything away to sail the seas for at least a year. We bought a boat, and we’re going to live and travel on it. We’re starting in Florida and heading south from there. No exact plans – we’ll see how it goes and go with it.

This is not a lifestyle for everyone: some people think we’re crazy. Others think we’re “living the dream.” Me? I am excited, but our date of departure is fast approaching, and I don’t know what I am doing!

About Our Boat

Sava is a boat built for adventure. We’re pretty sure she’s been around the world, and she’s definitely been to The Bahamas. She’s in Florida now waiting for us, and I’ve provided more details and a tour where you can learn more about our new home.

Cycling Tour Quebec: Yamaska to Magog

The third day of our tour of Quebec, cycling Yamaska to Magog for 54 kilometers, took 3 hours. Our route took us through some pretty mountainous terrain from Yamaska Park to just outside of the town of Magog.

Leaving Yamaska

We enjoyed our night in Yamaska, took the long way biking out of the park, and then biked on to our next stop: an Airbnb near Magog for 2 nights.

Cycling The Eastern Townships Near Granby Quebec

Day 2 was going to be one of our “easy” days. After our late start but long bike on Monday (+/-80K), we were going to provision and explore the local parks. We were even booked to stay in a park on a lake that very night! The day was warm and partly sunny (yay clouds!) and we were ready for cycling the Eastern Townships near Granby Quebec. Parks, nature, art: it’s all on offer outdoors in this beautiful part of Canada!

Cycling Through Granby

From our Airbnb, we stopped off in the town of Granby. It’s so pretty and full of bike paths. There’s a little river and waterfall, and lots of pretty views. We stopped for photos frequently and it was a beautiful day to do it!
