Cats of the Caribbean

If you’re looking for a post about catamarans, keep moving, because this is all about the cute and friendly cats and kittens I keep seeing on the islands. Whenever I see one, I try to take a photo so here’s a cats of the Caribbean post. Don’t worry, Domino doesn’t know, and she still gets lots of love from us at home.

Most of these sweet felines are from Martinique, but some were spotted in Saint Lucia and Guadeloupe. Some are so friendly they’ll walk right up to you and most are so secure they won’t run away when you approach. Here’s some cute cats of the Caribbean.

Cats in Saint Lucia

We met this first girl in a bar in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. She lived in that bar and was really affectionate with both of us and got especially curious about Brian’s phone.

Grenada Highlights: Nature and Outdoors

Grenada is a naturally beautiful island with friendly people and fun culture. We’ve been exploring since our arrival on the Spice Island. Here are our Grenada highlights of nature and the great outdoors.

Sculpture Park

Underwater art installations in the ocean near St. George’s create beautiful artificial reefs and one of the island’s most popular destinations for snorkeling or scuba diving.

The Moliniere underwater sculpture park attracts fish and people to this unique site on Grenada’s west coast. I think this park is a must visit, for the beautiful otherworldly pieces by artist Jason deCaires Taylor and the plentiful ocean life. Taylor is an environmentalist and artist with work is in Bahamas and around the world. The award winning Grenada site includes more than 65 sculptures, notably a ring of children, “The Lost Correspondent” of a man at a desk, and  “Nutmeg Princess” fitting for Grenada as a nutmeg producer.

How to Spend A Week in Martinique

Martinique ranks at the top of the list of islands we’d love to revisit. We spent a week in Martinique, enjoyed the crystal clear waters, delicious French cuisine, and fun culture, and we will be happy to return. Here are my recommendations on how to spend a week in Martinique.
